A Typical Lesson Plan
Warm-Up (5 minutes): Quick writing prompt, vocabulary activity, or discussion starter.
Mini-Lesson (10–15 minutes): Direct instruction on a focus skill (e.g., thesis development, figurative language, rhetorical analysis).
Guided Practice (15–20 minutes): Students work with support—writing paragraphs, annotating texts, or practicing close reading strategies.
Independent Practice (10–15 minutes): Student applies the skill to their own work.
Wrap-Up & Feedback (5–10 minutes): Reflection, goal-setting, and targeted feedback.
