About Sofia
I hold a degree in Education from Kemerovo State University, where I graduated with honors (with distinction).
I have 8 years of extensive tutoring experience, helping students achieve their academic and personal language goals. In addition to private tutoring, I have 3 years of practical experience working in a traditional Russian school.
I am deeply committed to continuous professional development. I regularly participate in advanced pedagogical training (such as specialized literature courses) and actively explore modern educational platforms to keep my teaching methods fresh, engaging, and highly effective.

About my methodology:
I believe that learning Russian shouldn't feel like a tedious school chore. My classes are fully immersive and built on interactive online whiteboards, visually engaging presentations, and custom-designed workbooks. To keep students highly motivated, I often use gamification, detective quests, and relatable pop-culture references (from Harry Potter to Genshin Impact and anime) to explain complex grammar rules, punctuation, and literary devices. With eight years of tutoring experience and a strong background as a certified school teacher, I know exactly how to make lessons both highly effective and genuinely fun for children and teenagers.
In our classes, we will:
Improve grammar and orthography: Mastering accurate writing and spelling without boring memorization.
Expand active vocabulary: Moving beyond basic everyday words to richer, more expressive language.
Speak with confidence: Learning to formulate thoughts clearly, beautifully, and naturally in Russian.
Master written composition: Writing structured essays, opinion pieces, and creative texts.
Explore Russian literature: Reading and discussing literary works in a way that sparks true interest.
Develop critical thinking: Analyzing texts, understanding the author’s intent, and building strong, well-reasoned arguments.
Eliminate language interference: Getting rid of direct translations (calques) and unnatural sentence structures influenced by English or the student's primary language.
