Find a Russian tutor near me in Russia

Russian isn't easy, yet with the right approach it becomes much more approachable.

• The Cyrillic script looks unfamiliar at first but only takes a few days to memorize.
• Case endings can feel overwhelming early on, since nouns and adjectives shift form constantly.
• Verb aspects: choosing between perfective and imperfective forms to show whether an action is finished.
• Pronunciation: stressed syllables shift vowel sounds and some consonants have no English equivalent.

A private tutor breaks these hurdles into manageable steps and keeps you moving forward.

A private Russian lesson in Russia costs approximately $21/h.

Pricing can vary based on:

• The level of study (primary, secondary, university)
• The tutor's experience and qualifications
• The duration and frequency of lessons
• Where the sessions take place

Online lessons are often more affordable while remaining effective.

Self-teaching works well for some parts of Russian, less so for others.

• Structured resources help with the alphabet, basic vocabulary, and simple sentence patterns.
• Conversation skills need a real interlocutor, which self-study apps rarely provide.
• Case and aspect mistakes: easy to make and easy to repeat if nobody points them out.
• Pronunciation feedback: difficult to judge your own accent without a native ear listening in.

A private tutor catches these gaps early, so bad habits never get the chance to set in.
