About Alena
I’m a native Russian speaker with fluent English and a genuine love for language, communication, and all the strange little things that get lost in translation.
I’m especially interested in how people actually use language — tone, humor, subtext, slang, internet culture, and the difference between something being technically correct and something a native speaker would naturally say.
I’m patient, curious, easy to talk to, and very happy to answer the questions that might feel too random, specific, or weird for a traditional lesson. My goal is simple: help Russian feel like a living language rather than something you only encounter in a textbook.

My lessons are built around real conversation and whatever you’re interested in: everyday Russian, natural pronunciation, slang, memes, social media, texting, music, cultural context, or that one message Google Translate absolutely butchered.
Bring screenshots, conversations, posts, videos, lyrics, or just yourself and we’ll talk. I’ll explain not only what something means, but how it sounds to a native speaker — the tone, subtext, humor, and the more natural way to say it.
No pressure and no rigid curriculum. Whether you’re a beginner trying to make Russian feel less intimidating or an advanced learner who wants to stop sounding like a textbook, we’ll work from where you are.
