About Arsalann
I'm Arsalan, an engineering graduate currently working as a software developer at a technology firm that builds enterprise financial systems for capital-market clients. Mathematics has been my strongest subject since school, and it remains central to my everyday professional work — from algorithms and problem-solving to the logic that underpins large software systems.
Through school and university, Mathematics was always where I felt most at home. Over the years I have informally helped younger students, cousins, and friends prepare for their board exams and entrance tests, and I have consistently seen how the right explanation — patient, honest, and first-principles-based — turns a struggling student into a confident one.
What I bring to tutoring is a working professional's discipline: reliability, structure, and clear communication. I take teaching seriously. Every session is prepared in advance, I show up on time, and I treat each student's progress as my own responsibility. Hello! I'm Arsalan — a software engineer by profession, and someone who's loved Mathematics since school. I now tutor students online across CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE, IB and SAT curricula, from Grade 6 all the way to Grade 12.
My teaching method is simple: understand the why behind every formula. I don't believe in rote memorization or shortcut tricks that fall apart in the exam. Instead, I break each topic down to first principles, connect it to real-world logic, and only then introduce the shortcuts — so students always know when to apply them and why.
A typical lesson starts with a quick 5-minute recap of the previous session, followed by 30–40 minutes of guided problem-solving on the current topic. I ask more questions than I answer — students arrive at the solution themselves, which is what actually builds confidence. Every session ends with 3–5 curated practice problems and a clear plan for what to work on before we meet next.
What sets me apart is patience. I'm especially good with students who feel stuck or scared of math, and I'll re-explain a concept as many times as it takes without ever making them feel behind. Because I work full-time as an engineer, my sessions are structured and time-efficient — no wasted minutes.
My lessons are for school students (Grade 6–12) preparing for board exams (CBSE, ICSE, IGCSE, State Boards), IB Standard Level candidates, and SAT Math aspirants.
