About Ta'Bless

I am a 23-year-old college student studying computer engineering at Texas Tech University. I have ample experience with English and Math on an advanced level throughout my education and I aim to help younger demographics as that learning group what is what I am most comfortable confident with teaching. I enjoy working with children due to my many years of voluntary childcare and I tend to mesh well with students because of my patient and cool personality; much like an older sibling. I feel that I will serve as a positive role model and educational tool for your student's needs.

About the lesson

My teaching methods are both practical and fun for students, such as incorporating games and memorization methods to help kids learn and completely understand concepts in English and Math.

To begin a 60 minute session, we start with a warmup activity to initially gauge the student's current skill set and understanding of a topic. Then, we will head into the main topic using some prompts or problems to work through together. Throughout the lesson we will be creating notes and tools to help the student understand and remember concepts. At the end of the lesson, we'll do review games or review questions to make sure the student understands the lesson. Positive reinforcements are a big part of my methods, because I want students to feel comfortable asking for help as well as being excited to learn.

I am very patient and can accommodate many learning styles. Although I am primarily online, I am very hands on and I use various online tools to be as visibly and physically engaged as possible with a student as if I am beside them with pen and paper.

My lessons are primarily designed for elementary students, however middle school students can take a more laid-back approach to make them feel more comfortable.

The platform I will be using is google classroom, so a Gmail account for your child will be required upon booking. I am available after 6pm Mon.-Thurs. & any time after 2pm on Sunday.
