About Jodi
I have an M.A. in English. I've been teaching for 17 years, so I have taught multitudes of students from 6th grade through college. My super strength is in essay writing, revising, and editing. In Nevada, due to my curriculum for passing the Writing Proficiency Exam, the high school passing average of 75% rose to 85.5%. I have been a freelance reporter, and I've been published. I especially enjoy working one on one with students.

I base my teaching on the general lessons, then tailor them to meet the needs of individual students based on what I see in rough drafts, classroom observations, interpersonal communication, and formative assessments. I see myself as a coach and mentor. My goal is to help every person find his or her own writing voice.

Distance expenses for driving to Columbia are $15, or less depending on the number of sessions needed. If a student cancels 24 hours in advance, there is no charge. If a student cancels 23 hours or less in advance, the cost is $10.
