About Deniz

Hello! I’m an IB graduate with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students improve their English and exam skills. I grew up in Dubai, where I completed the International Baccalaureate (IB), and I understand firsthand the challenges of studying in a rigorous international curriculum.

Although English is my second language, I speak it at a native level and have developed a deep understanding of how to master English skills for academic success. I also fluent in Turkish, which allows me to support Turkish-speaking students who may need extra help with language and comprehension.

I’m currently studying Law at Durham University, and I have experience helping students with IB English (Language & Literature), IELTS preparation, and general English improvement. As an international student myself, I know how important confidence and clear communication are, and I’m committed to helping students build both.

I believe everyone can improve with the right guidance, practice, and encouragement — and I’m here to help you achieve your goals.

About the lesson

I aim to make learning clear, structured, and enjoyable by adapting my teaching style to each student’s needs.

I focus on building strong foundations first, then gradually increasing difficulty to develop confidence and independence.

I use a combination of explanation, practice, and feedback to ensure understanding and progress.

I Apply:

Personalised learning: I assess your strengths and weaknesses at the start and tailor lessons to your needs.

Clear explanations: I break down complex concepts into simple, understandable parts.

Active learning: I encourage students to participate actively through discussion, questions, and practice tasks.

Exam-focused approach: For IB and IELTS, I teach exam techniques, time management, and how to structure answers.

Reading and writing practice: Especially for IB and IELTS, I focus on building strong writing skills, analysis, and critical thinking.

Length of Sessions:

- 60 minutes per session

Qualifications & Experience:

- IB Graduate with HL Language & Literature

- Currently studying Law

- Experience helping students improve their writing, reading, and exam performance

- Strong understanding of IB marking criteria and IELTS exam structure
