About Ella

I am a graduate of the University of Melbourne and an experienced secondary teacher with a strong passion for education and helping students achieve their potential. I have taught at established and highly regarded schools in Australia, supporting students across English and the Humanities to develop confidence, critical thinking and strong academic skills.

Alongside my teaching, I have a background in literary writing, with work published in literary journals. I enjoy bringing this broader engagement with literature, writing and ideas into my teaching, helping students see English and the Humanities as subjects that are not only academically valuable, but genuinely interesting and rewarding.

I have also contributed to education resource projects with the University of Melbourne and the English Lab, developing and supporting resources designed to enhance student learning. These experiences have strengthened my interest in innovative, thoughtful approaches to education and in finding ways to make learning accessible and engaging for different students.

I am passionate about creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing their ideas and challenging themselves. Whether a student needs help building confidence, improving their writing, preparing for assessments or pushing towards the highest levels of achievement, I aim to provide clear, personalised and engaging support.

About the lesson

I am a graduate of the University of Melbourne and an experienced secondary school teacher, with a strong track record of supporting students to achieve excellent academic outcomes at established and highly regarded schools in Australia.

I offer tutoring in English, History and Politics, working with students to build both confidence and the skills they need to succeed. My approach combines clear explanations, thoughtful discussion and targeted academic support, tailored to each student's individual needs and goals.
Whether your child is looking to strengthen foundational skills, improve their grades, prepare for exams, develop essay-writing technique or reach the highest levels of academic achievement, I can provide structured and engaging support.

I can help with:
* English language and literature
* History
* Politics and related humanities subjects
* Essay writing and analytical skills
* Critical thinking and argument development
* Exam and assessment preparation
* Study skills and academic confidence
* Extension and high-achievement students

As an experienced classroom teacher, I understand not only the subject content but also how students learn and what is required to perform strongly in assessments and examinations.

My aim is to make lessons engaging, rigorous and supportive — helping students become more confident, independent and capable learners.
If you're looking for an experienced teacher with a strong academic background and a genuine commitment to student achievement, I'd be delighted to help.
