About Nicole
I have a B.A. in English literature and have taught English for 2+ years, focusing on teaching adults English for a professional setting, such as work/business. I am able to accommodate my schedule to the students' needs and also take into consideration any feedback that the student has on what they would want future lessons to be like.

My first lesson is always a trial lesson to learn about the person's goals for learning English and what they hope to get out of working with a tutor. Using this information, I create a personalized plan with the goal at its center. My lessons are 1 topic (or subtopic) only. This means that I will focus on teaching the material in depth. I then create a homework assignment for the student to complete before the next lesson. In the beginning of the next lesson, I go over the homework with the person and explain why their answers were wrong, if any. I make sure that the student understood the material from the previous lesson if they had any trouble with understanding it fully to complete the homework. I then start teaching the student the current lesson's material. My style of teaching is not just me speaking and the student listening/writing notes. Instead, I work with the student in a more conversational manner to collaborate with the student than just speaking to the student.
