About Maella
I am a 21 year old Masters student from Cornwall and Belgium. I love literature and hope to share that passion with you. My motivation is to help you succeed, whether that’s in your exams, your essay-writing, your speaking or your confidence. I hope you can develop an enjoyment of language while we work towards that success! No matter what your level is, I believe everyone can contribute something to the world of literature— because stories are given meaning by their readers.

My English classes are tailored to specific needs such as reading comprehension, written communication, essay writing and structure, and exam preparation. With my students, I will go through exam mark schemes and pinpoint the elements that my student needs particular focus on. We will read past papers and practice answering questions that meet the criteria. My approach to tutoring is always positive and encouraging. I am deeply passionate about literature and seek to share that enjoyment with my students.
My french classes target written and spoken communication. I am a bilingual native speaker of both French and English. Having grown up in Belgium, I have a native accent when speaking French, which is particularly helpful in preparing for oral exams and conversation skills. My classes are adapted to spoken or written needs. Speaking classes will be conversational, to develop familiarity with the language rather than memorising words and phrases, which is less effective. Writing classes will focus on vocabulary, grammar, and syntax activities. I will work with different tenses and vocabulary groups depending on student level. I will also assign short texts that we can read and analyse together to build onaa as reading comprehension.
