About Marissa
I graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature with minors in Italian Language Studies and Political Science. I have been both a private tutor and a classroom reading tutor for a middle school. I have spent the last year in Hawaii teaching special education. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies, as is song writing. I play guitar and piano. I love anything to do with Star Wars. Some of my favorite books include The Hobbit, the Harry Potter Series, and anything by Earnest Hemingway.

I am a patient and understanding teacher. We will move diligently at a comfortable pace for the student to guarantee their comprehension of the subject matter. All lesson plans are tailored to the students needs and will evolve as the student does. My lessons are best suited for middle and high school levels, but I also have experience at the elementary level as well.
