About Phillip
I'm an English Literature graduate who has spent his life in the business of words and ideas.
Since I was fourteen, volunteering for a newspaper in my father's ill-fitting suit, I've spent every moment I can writing, reading, researching, editing, travelling, and tutoring.
I've been a food writer, film critic, cultural columnist, newspaper and literary editor, magazine designer, researcher, and so much more. I've published and helped others publish with Strange Harbours, Seren, Eevee Life, Hackwriters, The Metropolist, The Scum Gentry, The Article, and more.
It has been a pleasure, and, after sixteen years, there is much I wish I had known when I started. That is what I can offer to you now.

I'm an English Literature graduate and published writer in both the journalistic and creative realms. I've been a food writer, film critic, and cultural columnist. I'm also an experienced editor and tutor with interests in Literature, Essay Journalism, Creative Writing, and Dialectics.
I incorporate this into a creative and philosophical toolkit that I wish I had been given earlier in my academic career, including the following short courses:
- The Fundamentals of Deep Reading: Form, Content, Structure
- Context & Discourse: What Does Meaning Mean?
- The Rule of Thirds: How to Let Essays Write Themselves
- The Socratic Method: How to Question Everything
- Premises 101: Scepticism and The Scientific Method
- Dialectical Approaches: How to Argue With Yourself and Others
- More to Follow!
These subjects typically require a minimum of five one-hour sessions to establish a foundational understanding, although best results will depend on the student's preference and comfort level.
Those looking to study a humanities subject at university - English, History, Philosophy, etc - will find these short courses especially useful.
All lessons are written and scaled with ages 11-18 in mind, although I welcome queries from any and all. Although I am (slowly) learning Hindi, I ask that all prospective students be fluent in English.
