About Cian

I am a 25 Year old postgraduate student born and raised in Britain. I specialized in Romantic Poetry for my MA. Teaching is exactly what I want to do in life. I can sincerely say that I love my job. It means something to the students, and to me, and this experience is something I will cherish dearly for the rest of my life.
I have analysed a lot of language theory during my life, as language is a beautiful and fascinating thing. Languages are a mix of modern Culture and Ancient history, and the way they developed is a mesmerising thing to study. I have analysed mouth shapes, common sounds, alphabets, rote learning, creative learning, and learning through problem solving. Keeping lessons fun and light is a big part of my teaching, as I never wanted to dishearten a learner by overloading them with complicated information. However, I incorporate everything I have learned in my time teaching, and my time as a student, into my lessons.

About the lesson

I am a qualified TEFL teacher with 2 years of experience teaching all ages English language and Literature. I also have an MA in English Literary Studies with merit. I have experience with all ages and skill levels, so my lessons are appropriate for students of any level.

I make lessons suited to the learners interests. I don't want my students to memorise lines of English until its burned into their brains. Instead, I encourage students to explore the language through their own interests, such as books, films, music and film. I put a focus on problem solving, allowing the student to find a dynamic path that fits their learning style.

I will encourage students to speak independently in natural conversation that uses everything they have learnt thus far. I will also encourage them to write and express themselves through English via journals, poems, and statements.

I will give homework tasks every lesson. The initial goal of the homework will be to garner interest in English through music or literature. Eventually I will elicit written and oral pieces from the student.

Lessons will last for 40 minutes.
Any skill level and any age.
