About Liliana
I am an experienced and passionate English teacher with 20 years of teaching experience, including in the UK. I hold a PhD in English and American Studies from the University of Manchester and have an excellent command of English at near-native level. I am committed to creating a supportive, stimulating and professional learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and expressing themselves. I believe that learning a language should be intellectually rewarding, practical and enjoyable. My aim is not simply to help students improve their English, but to give them the confidence to use it naturally and effectively in real-life situations.

My lessons combine interactive learning with authentic English from real life. I use short film and TV clips, comics, contemporary vocabulary and real-world situations to make grammar meaningful and memorable. A typical lesson moves from discovering language in context, through guided analysis and vocabulary building, to active speaking and practical use. For example, a short scene from Notting Hill can lead from analyzing Future Continuous and “in case” to relationship vocabulary and modern expressions such as “to ghost someone”, “to have rizz” or “a soft launch”. I teach on more advanced levels adapting lessons to their goals and interests. What sets me apart is my ability to combine academic depth with natural, contemporary English and turn authentic material into engaging, purposeful learning.
