I have a student-centered approach to teaching. As an English instructor, to enhance student participation and decrease my involvement as a teacher in the learning process, I organize classroom activities that encourage pair and group work to maximize practice and interaction. I match strong students with those who needed extra assistance to create a more supportive learning environment. I gradually became a facilitator who crafted lesson plans, made students aware of the learning objectives, fostered reflective engagement, enhanced learner autonomy, and underlined learning from and with peers. At the moment, I am exploring the world of online teaching, community building, and one-to-one mentoring.
I have a bachelor's degree in English Literature, a CELTA teaching English certificate, and finishing my master's in Comparative Literature. I have 2-years of experience teaching general English and academic writing courses at all levels to adult learners. At the moment, I am an instructor of Comparative Literature at the Pennsylvania State University.
