About Beatrice

I’m a second-year university student currently studying English, and I’m passionate about helping young people feel confident and capable in the subject. Beyond being a key subject at school, I believe a grounding in English is beneficial to any career path as it comes through in clear and concise communication and well structured arguments. I will bring my enthusiasm and adaptability to every session to build confidence that students can take on with them in all future endeavours. Alongside a strong academic background and consistent top grades (A* or equivalent in all public exams), I am punctual and well-organised and my lessons will be planned and individually tailored for the best results. I have experience working with children, including those with additional needs, and I pride myself on being engaging and adaptable in my teaching style to suit each individual. Whether you learn best through structured planning, discussion-based learning, or step-by-step walkthroughs, I will help you find the approach which works best. I’m committed to a career in education, with plans to pursue a Master’s in English followed by a PGCE to become a qualified teacher. In the meantime, I bring the same level of dedication and professionalism to my tutoring work that I plan to carry into the classroom. Outside of working, I enjoy playing badminton, going for long walks, and spending time outdoors – I find balance and energy in nature, which helps me bring a calm and positive attitude to each lesson.

About the lesson

I’m a second-year university student studying English, with A* (or equivalent) grades in all public exams I have taken. I offer personalised, online English tutoring for English Language (GCSE) and English Literature (GCSE and A level) following the rubric of whichever exam board you're studying with. Lessons would be one or two hours long and delivered online. I offer: Essay practice with detailed, constructive feedback - Guided essay planning to build confidence and structure - Practice essay questions and feedback - Creating model answers together to boost confidence - Focused support on key texts and further reading for nuanced understanding to make your essays stand out - A flexible approach to provide support in areas students may lack confidence in Having looked after children (through babysitting and volunteering at my local school) I am confident in providing support to those with learning difficulties and creating a supportive and patient environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills. I believe that the best learning happens when it's shaped around the student. I’ll work to identify where the most support is needed, whether that’s understanding set texts, planning essays, or improving exam technique.
