About Allie

A recent graduate of Oxford, I earned a Distinction in Creative Writing. Before then, I taught IB English for six years in the United States with excellent results. For the last two years, I taught one-to-one lessons in GCSE English, A Level English, ESL, and IELTS at a British private school.

Whether it is preparing for an exam, improving your overall writing and composition skills, or building confidence to engage with challenging literary texts, I can help. My past students earned an average score of 6 on the Higher Level IB English Literature exam. I am friendly, disarming, and highly knowledgeable in both an academic and educational sense: I know the content of the curriculum for GCSE, A Level and IB courses, but also hold two Masters degrees in my subject area. My teaching experience includes students from across the spectrum of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds. I know I can help any student to develop as a reader or writer of English.
