About Kaelyn

I have worked in education for the past five years with three of those years being a full-time teacher. Much of my education has been centered around English composition and the study of classical literature. My love of this discipline has been a driving force in my teaching and I strive to inspire others with this passion. However, I understand that this comes naturally to everyone. I make a genuine effort to get to know my students and use their interests as a way to engage them in our lessons.

About the lesson

My lessons revolve around exploratory questions that drive the heart of the lesson. My lessons are oriented towards sparking curiosity on the basis that people learn best when they want to know about something. Over the course of three years of teaching middle school and high school, I have developed ways to teach literature, grammar, and essay composition in engaging ways. I have also taught poetry comprehension and composition. I have also taught a creative writing course that focuses on short stories and novellas. I have also been a part of my school's senior thesis project for two years, which is a 15-page capstone project composed as part of our graduation requirements. As a result, I can create lessons that are appropriate for grades 6-12. I can also help undergrads with English composition and comprehension.
