About Leslie
For most of my students throughout my teaching career, I have been their trusted adult. I listen closely to their struggles, concerns, and questions, and respond thoughtfully and in a supportive manner. I take my responsibility as a teacher very seriously and want to help you be successful.
Seventeen years is a long time to be a teacher, and I absolutely love what I do! I have received positive feedback about my reading skills and writing ability by my master's degree professors, and my students find my proofreading, editing, and idea-generating skills incredibly helpful for everything from resumes to college application and scholarship essays to literary analyses.

I work with students by starting with their needs. I have 18 years of experience helping students read and analyze difficult texts and draft and write strong essays. I have taught everything from 9th grade English to AP English Literature and Language to college credit intro to rhetoric and intro to literature courses. I want to help you with your needs, so I will not push anything on you that you don't need. I'm also very easy going and really want what's best for you.
