About Ely

Hi, I’m Ely! I’m an 18-year-old student currently studying International Relations at the Australian National University. I'm passionate about English and love helping students build their skills and confidence. My goal is to make learning feel less overwhelming and more approachable, simplifying tricky concepts and hopefully making the process rewarding and enjoyable, too. I’ve consistently performed highly in English, earning a SACE Merit in Creative English and an Excellence in Modern History. I’ve also gained tutoring experience through mentorship programs with the Australian Science and Mathematics School, supporting students in Aldinga and Swan Reach. Outside of tutoring, I work on creative writing projects and occasionally produce video essays for social media. I'm really looking forward to helping you succeed in a tricky area— and getting to know you along the way!

About the lesson

I offer tutoring for students from R-12, helping younger students with reading comprehension and literacy, and older students with essay structure and creative writing. Lessons can range from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours, tailored to the student’s needs. My approach focuses on breaking down difficult assignments into manageable parts. My focuses are on improving writing clarity and coherence and improving reading comprehension. I guide students in crafting strong introductions, developing logical arguments, and writing effective conclusions for essays. I also specialize in creative texts, including poetry and narratives. I’m a Year 12 graduate with a SACE Merit in Creative English, currently studying International Relations/Security at the Australian National University. I also have mentorship experience with Aldinga/Swan Reach programs, where I helped students build confidence and improve their academic skills.
