Before the lesson, I discuss students' aims to develop a plan for subsequent tuition. Additionally, I pinpoint strengths and weaknesses to ensure no time is wasted covering topics students are comfortable with.
At the beginning of the lesson, I re-cap material covered in prior sessions. During the session, I link explanations to assignment-feedback and topics students are interested.
I have taught English, Economics, Maths, Politics and 11+ for over five years. I secured 3A*s in English, Politics and Economics at A-level and enjoy writing articles on these topics in my spare time.
I have taught 52 students in-person and online.
I have experience tutoring students' from primary school age through to GCSE and A-Level. This year, my students have surpassed their predicted grades, achieving As and A*s at GCSE and scoring well in their 11+ exams.
I enjoy getting to know students as individuals. Identifying students' specific learning needs and confidence development is essential to ensure academic success. By providing engaging and tailored lessons, I help numerous students become enthusiastic about subjects they struggle with.
I regularly attend workshops and events across the UK to enhance my teaching. Recently, I attended The Evolution of Education Conference led by Professor AC Grayling and Professor Tim Wheeler in Shrewsbury, and CPD: Language and Literacy Workshop in London (Holborn).
Topics I have taught recently:
Plays - Shakespeare (e.g. Romeo and Juliet, Measure for Measure, Much Ado About Nothing) Henrik Ibsen and J. B. Priestley.
Books - Gothic Literature (e.g. Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Jekyll and Hyde, The Yellow Wallpaper, Dracula, Frankenstein, A light in August, American Psycho, Vathek and Northanger Abbey).
My students tend to request help in creative/descriptive writing, grammar and syntax.

Perfect! The meeting went really well. My son really enjoyed interacting with Micah!
And as a parent I liked the fact he was thinking ahead and planning on help my son's meet his short term goals.
Strengths: Very well focused and hardworking
Areas of improvement: Confidence - Displayed uncertainty even when he knew the answer. Kalyan should give it his best shot! My lessons are a safe space.
Micah has taught me politics online for 7 months in preparation for my Politics A-Level. I got a A* in my mock exam and could not have done it without Micah.
My mum and I were unsure about getting an English tutor online to help me with my A-Level exams. Whether lessons would be engaging in an online environment was a big concern. However, Micah has gone above and beyond to ensure that our sessions are interactive. He uses a virtual whiteboard which we can both draw on with our smartphones/tablets. If I write essays in my exercise book, he requests that I scan the work using my phone, and he quickly sends his written feedback back to me! Micah breaks down complex Shakesperian texts and old poetry in a simple way that is not boring. He helped me exceed the expectations of teachers when I achieved an A* IN MY MOCK EXAMS! My public examinations have been postponed due to COVID-19, but I am not as worried as before about taking them.
