About Adrianna

Hi, I'm Adrianna! I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Education and have more than six years of experience teaching English Language Arts, with a particular emphasis on grammar, writing, and composition. I spent four years teaching high school English in a classroom setting, where I worked with students in college preparatory, honors, and AP-level courses. During that time, I focused on helping students develop strong writing foundations by improving sentence structure, punctuation, clarity, and word choice. I also taught a Saturday SAT/ACT preparation course for one year, supporting students as they built the reading, writing, and grammar skills needed for standardized tests.

For the past two years, I have worked primarily as a one-on-one tutor, supporting students ranging from elementary school through college. This individualized setting has allowed me to tailor my instruction to each student’s specific needs, goals, and learning style. I focus on meeting students where they are academically and breaking complex writing and grammar concepts into manageable, approachable steps that build both understanding and confidence over time.

I have experience teaching both in person and online and am very comfortable working in virtual learning environments. I use interactive tools and guided practice to keep students engaged and ensure that sessions are productive and supportive. Whether a student needs help strengthening foundational grammar skills, improving academic writing, or preparing for exams, my goal is to help them feel more confident and capable as communicators.

About the lesson

My lessons are for all levels of ELA students, from introductory, to AP, to test prep. They are broken into small chunks in order to achieve a deeper understanding of the concepts presented. Furthermore, I can adapt to many different learning styles and am able to quickly pivot when a student needs something presented in a different way.
