About Nicole

Hi! I’m a Stony Brook University graduate with a double major and I’ll be starting law school this August. With a strong foundation in critical reading, analytical writing, and persuasive communication, I’m passionate about helping students develop the skills they need to succeed in English—and beyond. My academic background has trained me to think clearly, write effectively, and approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset. I bring that same energy and structure to every tutoring session. Whether you're working on an essay, tackling tough reading assignments, or preparing for college-level writing, I tailor my lessons to your unique learning style and goals. About the lesson

As a tutor, I take a student-centered, results-driven approach. I believe that strong communication and critical thinking are at the heart of mastering English, whether it's for academic success, test preparation, or everyday confidence. My goal is not just to help students improve their grades, but to equip them with skills they’ll carry into college and beyond. My teaching method blends structure with flexibility. I assess each student's needs and learning style, then adapt accordingly. I break down complex material into manageable pieces and teach strategies for reading comprehension, analytical writing, grammar, and argument development. I also incorporate real-world examples—especially helpful for students interested in law, debate, or persuasive writing. A typical lesson plan starts with a brief check-in and review, followed by targeted instruction on that day’s topic—whether it’s essay structure, close reading, or preparing for an upcoming assignment. I incorporate active learning through discussion, writing exercises, and collaborative analysis. Each session ends with clear takeaways and a short plan for continued progress. What sets me apart is my background: I’m a graduate of Stony Brook University and an incoming law student. I know how to write with purpose, argue with clarity, and think critically—skills I bring into every session. I’m approachable, patient, and committed to helping students feel confident and empowered in their abilities.
