About Mary Taylor
Hello! My name is Mary Taylor. I received my Ph.D. in English from Emory University in Atlanta. I also hold a bachelor's degree from a top liberal arts college in the southeast, as well as a master's degree in bioethics. My training is in British literary history, literary analysis, and writing. My own academic scholarship has appeared in peer-reviewed journals. I have five years of college-level teaching experience. At Emory University, I taught in the First Year Writing Program and I worked as an academic writing tutor in the School of Public Health. I currently teach literature courses in an English department at an R1 public research university. I work directly with students to deepen their understanding and appreciation of all genres of literature, and I teach them to become more effective and confident writers. I also work closely with students applying to graduate and professional school, and I have successfully mentored students admitted to medical school, law school, PhD programs, master's programs, and graduate programs abroad. I teach writing, literature, and how to craft exceptional essays, theses, and application materials. What are your methods? I provide support through all stages of the writing process.
