About Maria
I hold experience of 1-2-1 tutoring and mentoring with GCSE and A-Level students, with my students and mentees going on to achieve A/A* grades.
Furthermore, I hold a wealth of developed experience in writing A*- and First-grade essays. I have excellent communication skills to help students develop their essay-writing skills and give them the confidence to write well and think critically in both academic and professional contexts.
I am also very familiar with the university system and have a deep understanding of how to craft a successful application.

With a friendly, encouraging and determined approach, I tailor each session to your individual goals and use an interactive structure to target your needs. I seek to develop students' confidence and increase positive attitudes towards writing and critical thinking both in the short and long term.
My lessons are for anyone who wants to improve their writing and critical thinking skills, whether for academic or other purposes. If you're new to a particular form of writing - such as long coursework essays involving references - I can teach you how to come up with a base structure and give you other pointers that lead to great results.
I can also help anyone applying for university who is struggling to write their personal statement, or even just in need of proofreading!
