About Sophia
I think the most important thing to know about me is that grades and marks are one of the least important things to me as a tutor. Of course helping your student improve is important but helping them in the long run is even more vital. No one will put effort into doing something if they don't enjoy it at least a little bit. I want to first teach students to enjoy reading a writing like I did! I have continuously encouraged my peers and students to love English and enjoy doing the work. I am very patient and understanding to everyone situation and truly just want to leave the student better than I found them.

Each student is different so I would need to get to know my students learning style. I find it best working alongside the student. I think that fun drills and repetitive practice is the most effective. I would love to show the student some of my past work, or any other examples of the assignment and have them do some peer editing. Peer editing is a great way to improve ones own work. I also believe that lessons should be taught in a way that caters to the student which is why the first couple lessons will just be getting to know the student and creating a relationship. Students should be excited to learn and not dreading it. I am willing to teach as young as 3rd grade up until 10th grade.
