In addition to my academic achievements, my diverse educational background has significantly shaped my understanding of the challenges and expectations that students face. Having attended schools within a public school board, a Catholic school board, and a private school board abroad, I have gained valuable insights into the varying educational experiences. This breadth of exposure enables me to identify effective strategies for supporting students in comprehending the subject matter and meeting their learning objectives. I would like to share my perspective on the concept of 'self-sufficiency vs. the ability to teach.' One can be highly intelligent and successful on an individual level, but assisting others in understanding their own work requires a different approach and a distinct set of skills. Teaching involves not only knowledge, but the ability to communicate and guide others in their learning process effectively.

About the lesson

I plan to tutor in a one-on-one format, similar to a lesson with a teacher. We will review classroom expectations and curriculum standards tailored to the student's grade level and subject area.

While I am trained to work with grades 7-12, I am also open to tutoring grades 4-6.
In addition to holding degrees in both subject areas, I have gained hands-on experience as a student teacher in the following settings: a 7/8 split classroom, online academic and applied English, an ESL English room, and grade 9-12 academic and applied English. I plan on covering the lesson plan, expectations, homework, and understanding of the content.
