About Ella

Hello! I'm a First-Class Classics graduate based in London with a passion for learning, creativity and helping others build confidence in their studies.

Growing up, I was home educated before attending secondary school, and I still remember the impact that inspiring teachers had on me. Their encouragement played a huge role in my academic journey and is one of the reasons I enjoy supporting students today.

Alongside tutoring, I work part-time as a pottery teacher, which has taught me how to adapt my teaching style to different people and create a positive, encouraging learning environment. I'm chatty and friendly, and I love helping people discover new skills and gain confidence in their abilities.

Outside of work, you'll usually find me reading, cooking, running or spending time with family and friends. My favourite novel is The Magus by John Fowles, and I've always been fascinated by literature, ancient history and the stories that connect us to the past.

I believe learning should be engaging, supportive and tailored to the individual. Whether you're looking to improve your grades, prepare for exams or simply build confidence in a subject, I'd love to help you achieve your goals!

About the lesson

My teaching approach is incredibly friendly, supportive and tailored to each student's needs. I focus on building confidence alongside subject knowledge, using discussion, close reading, essay planning and structured feedback to help students develop strong analytical and writing skills.

Lessons typically last 60 minutes and can be adapted depending on the student's goals, whether that's exam preparation, improving literacy, essay writing or developing confidence in a subject. This can, however, be adapted to suit individual needs.

I hold a First-Class Bachelor's degree in Ancient History, as well as A Levels in English Literature and Language (A), Classics (A) and Psychology (B). I have experience working as a Literacy Mentor and Teaching Assistant in a primary school, and have spent three years working within the education sector with schools and students directly. I have also supported university students with academic writing, coursework and dissertation planning.

I offer lessons for primary, GCSE and A-Level students studying English, Classics and Ancient History, as well as students looking to improve their creative writing, spelling or essay-writing skills.
