About Adriana
I’m a Bay Area educator who is deeply passionate about helping students grow as readers, thinkers, and confident learners. Having grown up in the Bay Area myself, I feel strongly connected to the diverse communities I serve and bring that awareness into my teaching every day.
I’ve always loved reading and believe in the joy and power it brings. I strive to share that excitement with my students while helping them build strong comprehension skills and a deeper understanding of texts. My approach is also grounded in an understanding of child development, allowing me to meet students where they are and support their growth both academically and personally.
Outside of teaching, I’m an avid reader and hiker, and I love spending time with animals—especially cats. I also enjoy music and play the violin, which reflects my appreciation for creativity and discipline in learning.

In our lessons, I focus on meeting each student where they are and building a plan that supports their individual goals. Whether you are learning English or Spanish for the first time or strengthening existing skills, I design sessions that are engaging, structured, and responsive to your needs.
I draw on my experience teaching ELD, ELA, and Spanish in a dual language setting to support reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension. I also incorporate cultural and historical context to make language learning meaningful and connected to the real world.
In addition to language skills, I help students develop strong study habits, organization, and academic confidence. My goal is to create a supportive space where students feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and growing at their own pace while still being challenged.
Each lesson is personalized and may include targeted skill practice, guided reading or writing, conversation, and strategies that students can apply independently
