About Dustin
I am a experienced BC certified teacher and formerly worked in engineering (Engineering Technology) for several years before finding my passion. I also possess a Bachlor of Arts in English and am currently finishing my Masters in Special Education. Guiding students with exceptionalities is something I have been doing as an interventionist, teacher and tutor for years and is a type of teaching I love. I have taught in the traditinal classroom for years as well from K-9 and would be excited to help in math or language arts at any grade level. After teaching in public school in Saskatchewan I moved to BC and have been teaching at Madrona School for Twice Gifted students for two years here in Vancouver.

I am a very detemined teacher and have worked with students from all backgrounds and abilities. My masters degree in special education allows me to complete "level B" testing which helps to pinpoint gaps in reading, writing, or math development. After this initial testing I begin lessons with the understanding that every student learns differently and that infusing lessons with the childs' interests will help them excel! My lessons start with instruction followed by guided practice and usually end with a learning game or activity to solidify understanding.
