About Gonçalo

My name is Gonçalo, and I’m a tutor with a multidisciplinary academic background and several years of international teaching experience. I combine training in management and engineering, which allows me to work comfortably across humanities, analytical subjects, and structured problem-solving.
Over the past four years, I’ve taught students in Switzerland, Barcelona, and Lisbon, working with diverse profiles and academic systems. My focus has consistently been on helping students not only perform better in school, but also think more clearly, study more effectively, and gain confidence in their own reasoning.

I am now focused in online teaching as it allows for a level of focus, flexibility, and personalisation that is often difficult to achieve in traditional settings. Sessions can be tailored precisely to a student’s pace and needs, without time lost to commuting or classroom distractions. Digital tools also make it easier to share exercises, track progress, and revisit explanations, helping students develop autonomy and consistent study habits. For families, online lessons offer reliability and continuity, regardless of location, while maintaining the same depth and quality as in-person tutoring.

I support students across all core subjects: Math, Science, Portuguese, English, History, Geography, Critical Thinking, and Study Skills. Having traveled extensively, I bring a broad cultural perspective into the classroom, which often helps students connect school material to the real world and stay curious.

As a native speaker of Portuguese and English, I’m able to adapt lessons linguistically when needed and tailor explanations to each student’s learning style. Rather than focusing on short-term results alone, my approach is holistic: I aim to make students more organized, more confident, and better thinkers overall.

My method is engaging and practical: I help students with their homework, develop critical skills, and impart useful study techniques. I help your child at every step, making learning efficient and inspiring, whether it's developing fluency in fundamental maths, enhancing writing abilities, or gaining confidence in science.
