About Rose

Hello! My name is Rose and I am an enthusiastic and patient English teacher with a TEFL certification and international teaching experience in both South Africa and Spain. I have taught students from a wide range of backgrounds and age groups, from young children to teenagers and adults, both in person and online.

Living and teaching abroad has given me a deeper appreciation for how different and exciting language learning can be. It has also helped me understand the challenges students can face when learning a new language, especially when it comes to speaking with confidence and making mistakes. My goal is always to create a friendly, comfortable environment where students feel encouraged to participate and know that mistakes are a natural and important part of learning.

I’m a very curious person and love learning about different cultures, languages, music, movies, and TV shows. I’m currently learning Korean myself, and I especially enjoy using K-pop and K-dramas as part of my own learning experience. Because of this, I understand how much easier and more enjoyable language learning can be when it connects to the things you already love.

As your tutor, I will take the time to understand your individual goals and interests and create lessons that work for you. Whether you want to improve your conversation skills, prepare for school, strengthen your grammar and vocabulary, or simply feel more confident speaking English, I’m here to support you along the way.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching English is centered around making lessons engaging, personalized, and relevant to each student. I am TEFL certified and have taught English in both South Africa and Spain, as well as online. I have worked with a wide variety of learners, from young children as young as 4–5 years old to school-age students, teenagers, and adults. These experiences have taught me that every student learns differently, and I believe the best lessons are adapted to their individual interests, goals, and learning style.

One of my favorite ways to teach a language is by incorporating the things students already enjoy. I personally use K-pop, K-dramas, music, and other media to help me learn Korean, and I have found that connecting language learning with something you genuinely enjoy can make the process much more memorable and motivating. I like to bring this same approach into my English lessons by using songs, movies, TV shows, books, games, and topics that interest my students.

A typical lesson will depend on the student's age, level, and goals, but I like to include a combination of conversation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening, and practical exercises. For younger learners, lessons may include games, stories, songs, and fun activities to keep them engaged. With teenagers and adults, I can incorporate real-world conversations, current topics, and media that are relevant to their interests while focusing on building confidence and natural communication skills.

What sets me apart is my international teaching experience, TEFL certification, and experience teaching students both in person and online. I also believe that learning a language should be something you can enjoy, not something you simply study. When students can connect English to their hobbies, favorite shows, music, or other interests, they have more opportunities to encounter and practice the language naturally.

Whether you are a beginner learning your first English phrases, a student looking for help with school, or an adult hoping to become more confident speaking English, I aim to create a comfortable and encouraging environment where you can learn at your own pace.

My lessons are suitable for children, school-age students, teenagers, and adults of various English levels. I am happy to adapt lessons to your specific needs, whether your goal is improving conversation skills, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening, school English, or simply becoming more confident using English in everyday life.
