About Ncumisa

My interest in teaching comes from noticing how many learners are expected to fit into one way of learning, even though that doesn’t reflect how real thinking works.

Through my tutoring experience since 2018, I’ve worked with learners who understand concepts differently, some need more time, others need visual explanation, repetition, or a different way of breaking things down. That has shaped how I see education.
I’ve become especially aware of how neurodivergent learners are often misunderstood in traditional classroom settings. Instead of being seen as capable but different in how they process information, they are often labeled or left behind. That has stayed with me.

I’m interested in teaching because I want to challenge that gap. I don’t believe difficulty in learning means inability. I believe it often means the approach hasn’t been adapted yet. My focus is on creating learning spaces that are flexible, patient, and responsive to different ways of thinking.

What drives me is not just helping learners pass, but helping them experience learning in a way that finally makes sense to them. A way that respects their thinking process instead of forcing them into a single method.

For me, teaching is about redesigning access to understanding.

About the lesson

What makes my lessons different is that I take time to understand each learner as an individual. I recognise that everyone learns differently, so I don’t use a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I focus on your specific needs, challenges, and learning style to make sure you truly understand the work.

I have been tutoring since 2018 and I am currently completing my postgraduate studies in Education, which continues to strengthen my teaching approach and ability to support different learners effectively. My lessons are structured, but also relaxed and supportive, creating a space where learners feel comfortable asking questions and learning from their mistakes.

I make use of simple explanations, step-by-step guidance, and real-life examples to make English easier to understand and apply. My focus is not only on improving marks, but also on building confidence and helping learners feel more capable in their studies.

Above all, I aim to create engaging and enjoyable lessons where learning feels less stressful and more meaningful. My goal is for every learner to leave each session feeling clearer, more confident, and supported in their progress.
