About Pooja

Hello! I'm Pooja, and I’ll be your English tutor. I’m really excited to get started with all of you and help you become more confident in using the English language. As someone who is currently pursuing my Postgraduate Diploma in Education, I’ve been learning a lot about how to teach in fun and effective ways that I can't wait to share with you.

I chose to teach English because I believe it's not just a subject, but a key skill that opens doors to so many opportunities—whether it’s communicating with others, exploring different cultures, or even getting access to knowledge from all over the world. English helps us connect globally, and I want to help you feel comfortable and confident using it in your daily life.

In our lessons, we'll not only focus on grammar and vocabulary but also on how to use English in real-life situations. I’ll make sure that learning feels enjoyable, whether it’s through discussions, fun activities, or practice exercises that fit your pace.

I’m here to guide you every step of the way, and I’m sure we’re going to make a lot of progress together.

Techniques and Teaching Methodology

My teaching methodology focuses on student-centered learning, where lessons are tailored to suit individual needs and learning styles. I use a blend of interactive techniques such as:

Active participation: Encouraging students to express their thoughts and practice speaking and writing, whether through discussions, storytelling, or debates.

Contextual learning: Incorporating real-life examples and scenarios from local culture and daily experiences to make language learning more relatable and engaging.

Grammar and vocabulary building: Using visual aids, games, and quizzes to help students grasp complex grammar rules and expand their vocabulary.

Comprehension and critical thinking: I work on improving students' reading comprehension through guided reading sessions, followed by critical discussions on the text to develop their analytical skills.

Homework and practice assessments: Regular feedback is provided to monitor progress, focusing on exam formats and essay writing techniques to improve performance in assessments.

Typical Length of a Lesson
Each lesson typically lasts between 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the student’s level and attention span. I break the lessons into different segments—grammar, reading, writing, and speaking—to ensure students stay engaged.

Qualifications and Experience
Though I am a fresh graduate and currently pursuing my Postgraduate Diploma in Education, I have a strong foundation in English through my academic background. This equips me with a deep understanding of educational psychology, enabling me to create supportive and effective learning environments tailored to individual needs. My postgraduate studies focus on modern teaching methodologies that align with the latest syllabus requirements.

Target Audience
My lessons are designed for primary and secondary school students, typically aged between 7 and 17 years old, at all proficiency levels. I cater to students preparing for UPSR, PT3, and SPM English exams, as well as those looking to improve their language skills for general academic purposes.
