About Gibson
I am a Computer Science student at INTI with a passion for music and guitar. I am proficient in English and fluent in speaking Chinese.
I am patient and persistent, who doesn't mind students exploring the guitar, develop their own musicality, and build confidence in their playing.
My teaching focuses not only on technique, but also on developing a student's ear and helping them understand the instrument sonically. Whether you are just starting out or looking to improve your existing skills, I aim to create a supportive environment where you can learn at your own pace while staying motivated.

I believe learning guitar should be about enjoying the instrument and exploring what you can create with it, rather than simply following a set of instructions.
I place a strong emphasis on training the ear. Instead of focusing only on whether a student is playing a note or chord "correctly," I encourage them to listen carefully to how it sounds.
A typical one-hour lesson will involve:
- Check what the student already knows
- Teach one new concept
- Demonstrate it
- Watch their technique.
- Check their progress.
- Correct mistakes.
- Give them something to practice
My teaching experience so far has mainly come from teaching friends. I have also had my playing assessed by a guitar teacher, who considered my playing to be around the level expected of a Trinity College London diploma-level guitarist, although I do not personally hold that qualification.
My lessons are primarily aimed at beginner to intermediate guitarists, particularly students who feel like they need a spark of motivation or a different approach to help them enjoy learning and continue improving.
