My teaching approach is calm, thoughtful, and most importantly, joyful. I make sure to teach to the children who are in front of me, tailoring lessons to their specific needs and learning profiles. I believe in a collaborative relationship between myself, my students, their caregivers and if need be, their teachers and therapists.
I am an academic librarian with over ten years of elementary language arts and special education teaching experience. I hold both an MS in Library and Information Science and an MA in English Literature. I come from a progressive, whole-child-based teaching background. I am a skilled teacher of creative writing, reading comprehension, expository writing, and literary analysis.
