About Abisha
I am a Bachelor of Commerce graduate from the University of Toronto Mississauga with experience tutoring Math and English students. I am patient, approachable, and committed to creating a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes.
I tailor each lesson to the student’s individual needs, learning pace, and academic goals. I also track progress regularly and adjust lessons to focus on areas that need improvement.

My Approach as a Tutor:
My approach is patient, personalized, and student-focused. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style, explanations, and practice activities to match their learning pace and individual needs.
Teaching methodology and techniques:
I first identify the student’s strengths, areas for improvement, and learning goals. I explain concepts step-by-step using simple examples and then provide guided practice. I encourage students to ask questions and explain their thinking so I can make sure they truly understand the material rather than simply memorize answers. I also use practice questions, review exercises, and real-life examples to make lessons engaging and easier to understand.
A typical lesson:
A lesson usually begins with a quick review of previously learned material. We then introduce the new concept and work through examples together. After that, the student completes practice questions with my guidance, followed by independent questions to assess their understanding. I finish each lesson by reviewing key concepts, addressing any difficulties, and identifying what should be practiced before the next class.
What sets me apart:
I am friendly, approachable, and patient, and I create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions. I also track progress after lessons and adjust future sessions based on the student’s development. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to build their confidence and develop strong independent learning skills.
Who my lessons are for:
I offer Math and English tutoring for elementary and high school students, including students who need additional support, want to strengthen their foundations, or would like extra practice to improve their academic performance. Lessons can be customized according to the student’s grade level, curriculum, and specific learning goals.
