About Maritza
I'm a former English teacher. Students loved me and I loved them. I have a deep appreciation for literature and writing. In my own time, I write poetry and poetic prose. In my undergrad at UCLA, I was a student journalist for The Daily Bruin. I graduated with an English degree with a 3.7 and hold an MA in Education.

My teaching method lies in the art of asking questions which allows the learner to get to know themselves. We discuss what is currently being learned in class and if there is any way I can assist with what is taking place already. If additional work is required, the student and I will come up with a topic of interest and begin a task in the area the student needs to grow in. I have experience with K-12 and an expertise with high school.
