About Yuki

Hi, I’m Yuki, an experienced English, essay writing, and LNAT tutor dedicated to helping students reach their academic goals with clarity and confidence. I’m multilingual in English and Chinese, and I specialise in supporting students who want to strengthen their analytical reading, structured writing, and exam performance. As an undergraduate at University College London (UCL), I combine academic experience with a genuine desire to help students succeed, ensuring every lesson is supportive, structured, and tailored to their needs. I understand how overwhelming academic pressures can feel, especially when preparing for high-stakes exams like the LNAT, and I aim to create an environment where students feel calm, capable, and encouraged. I have experience teaching students from upper elementary to high school, including bilingual, international, and English-as-a-second-language learners. My lessons are fully online, flexible, and personalised to match each student’s goals, whether they are preparing for university applications, improving English grades, or building long-term academic confidence. Above all, I care about helping students find their voice. About the lesson

Preparing for the LNAT or improving English skills can feel overwhelming at first, but with the right support, it quickly becomes manageable and even rewarding. Having taken the LNAT myself and achieving a score of 31/42, I understand the challenge of balancing speed, accuracy, and clear written expression under time pressure. This experience has shaped the way I teach: calm, structured, and always personalised. How I Teach I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every student learns differently, so my lessons adapt to your strengths, goals, and comfort level. My teaching focuses on: - Building strong reading strategies for LNAT comprehension - Improving critical thinking and argument structure - Developing clear, confident essay writing - Strengthening English skills for both native and non-native speakers - Creating a supportive environment that reduces anxiety and builds genuine confidence Whether you're preparing for university applications or simply want to become a better communicator, I help you understand why something works, not just what to write. Teaching Techniques & Methods My lessons typically include: - Breaking down difficult texts into simple, understandable steps - Teaching efficient highlighting and annotation methods - Guided timed practice under exam-style conditions - Model essay structures and real-time writing support - Personalised feedback targeting clarity, argument strength, and coherence - Vocabulary building for stronger analytical writing I prioritise discussion, critical thinking, and active practice, not passive memorisation. Lesson Length Most lessons are 60 minutes, but 75–90 minute sessions are available for students who prefer deeper essay practice or full LNAT timed sections.
