About Marissa

Hello! My name is Marissa and I am a primary school teacher. I have 6 years experience as a classroom teacher and over 500 hours experience of online tutoring. My specialties are maths, reading, and writing. I have taught multiple age levels, ranging from 4 to 15 years old. I am qualified to teach in both Spanish and English.

In 2013, I made the decision to follow my passion and pursue a career in education, undertaking a Masters Degree in Teaching and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I completed my undergraduate degree in California, where I am from originally. I am an avid reader, travel enthusiast, and die hard sports fan. I look forward to working with you!

About the lesson

I believe that no matter your background, every pupil has the ability to thrive in the classroom. My goal as a tutor is to help every person reach their highest potential and become independent learners. This begins by meeting individual needs. Learning should be engaging, fun, and challenging. I use hands on material and real-life situations to pique pupils' interest and make learning more relatable. I aim to remove academic frustrations and help pupils become confident, lifelong learners.
