About Barbara
I have been a primary teacher for 20 years and teach in a high performing school. I began tutoring two years ago and it has been very successful. I have loved watching the children grow in confidence and in their ability. It is very rewarding with excellent feedback from parents too. My approach is always child-centred: I believe every child learns in their own way, and I adapt my lessons to suit their individual needs, abilities, and confidence levels. I use fun, interactive methods to keep children engaged — from games and puzzles to practical problem-solving activities — so that learning feels enjoyable, not stressful. Over the years, I have helped children to: • Build confidence in their learning • Improve key skills in reading, writing, and maths • Prepare successfully for SATs and 11+ entrance exams • Develop a love of learning that carries into the classroom
