I am teaching young children and try to pass on my love for learning. We start with the basics, but always involve fun stories and literature to keep their interest level high. We have fun, but we learn! I try to be firm, but also caring.
I have a Master's degree in education from the University of Virginia. I taught adults for 24 years and have switched to teaching children. I am a preferred substitute in the city schools and teach pods of kids on my porch during the pandemic. I also teach SOL approved curriculum for field trips at a local orchard. I am also a youth mentor for a foster care agency.
The rates would be higher for students beyond elementary school or if I need to travel more than 10 miles.
