I believe in learning by a multi-sensory approach. In order to truly retain material, a student needs to experience it on multiple levels. Beyond hearing a Hebrew word for instance, they need to see it; know the letters; hear the word; and understand the blends. Also, it is critical to pay attention to the core mantra in education: Every student learns just a little bit differently. I do not expect every student to fit into a mold.
My name is Cindy Weiss Harry and while I grew up in Philadelphia and educated on the East Coast in Ithaca, New York for undergrad, and Hahnemann University in Philadelphia for my Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy I now live in Indianapolis. I have spent my career working in the adoption field as well as teaching and tutoring Hebrew and English one-on-one and in a classroom setting. I have also taught in grades K-12 in a range of subjects from Humanities to Performing Arts.
I would ask for a 24 hour cancellation notice. I also understand emergencies. In emergency situations I would allow 2 no shows (cancellations less than 24 hours in advance) within a 8 month period of time) before a cancellation fee would be charged.
