About Laura
As well as performing, I have taught acting classes while working in theatre companies. I have been the director of a theatre camp for twenty years. Most of my students return to camp summer after summer. I have worked with these amazing students from kindergarten to college. When it works, it works!! I love teaching students who are interested in acting. Whether you are a newcomer or a seasoned actor, this is a chance to learn, grow and enjoy this amazing profession. Acting is not only enjoyable but it opens your mind and your heart. It helps with overcoming the fear of speaking in public. It also helps FREE your imagination. Oh, the places you can go!
I have been a professional actor for over thirtyfive years. I orginally got into acting at a young age, because I was terribly shy. My brother Don, who was an amazing actor, pushed me into taking acting classes, dance classes and voice classes. He pushed me to audition over and over and over again. It can be a difficult profession, but it can also be a very, very rewarding profession. So, I know how it feels to work and work and not get hired as an actor. I know how it feels to want to give up. But, I also know how it feels to finally be told, "You've got the part." If I can help anyone experience the joy of acting and performing with other actors, it would be a pleasure. It is an amazing feeling.
