About Arooj

I am a graduate student doing research in Biophysics, and love diving into the math and physics problems at the cutting edge of today's research. I have taught Physics courses at the college level, and received the highest scores in my teacher evaluations for clarity and ease of understanding.

I love helping students realize their potential, and giving them the tools they need to succeed. Every student is capable of learning something new, and it is up to the teacher to make sure the student excels.

I started tutoring as early as high school, but I received my first real teaching job at NJIT as a Physics Lab instructor and I loved every moment of it.

I have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and I am in my fourth year as a PhD Student in Material Science in the Physics department at New Jersey Institute of Technology.

I have worked with middle school to college level students teaching math, physics, and applied engineering topics.

About the lesson

Listening to the student is key, I am here to help and guide where the student needs the most help. By listening to what they already know and understand, I can get and idea of how to start at the level of understanding they feel they have.

Details

I charge per session, and that means only the time where we are actually stuyding and working through the materials. If we take a break for 10 minutes, or take some time to talk about what they are struggling with in order to get a better idea of the plan going forward, those are not counted towards the hour. The session is counted as the time we actually spend on working and doing the math.
