About Vince

I have coached for the past 12-14 years. I have a unique gift to connect with children and walk them through the basic fundamentals of sports and baseball.

I did not play baseball at any level. Little Leauge, Highschool and so forth. My work comes from doing with my kids and their teams. Learning as I went. What I found out was that my patience threshold and willingness to learn and try new things is generally greater in that I'm not comparing the player to "where I was" at their age, etc. The greatest gift to me is to see a young player learn how do do something special, that I love. Baseball.

As you know, 85% of kids quit sports because they hate their coach and/or practice.

In the earlier ages I have 3 basic rules.

1. Have Fun

2. Work Hard

3. Refer to Rule # 1

My perspective is that you, as a parent, want the same things that I want as a parent. I want my children to have increased confidence, skill, team, and work ethic.

I have twice been named coach of the year as voted by my peers. I have had parents ask me to sign items that they are going to frame for their little children. I've had parents thank me for being a difference maker.

My niche is going to be younger kids, or kids who have never picked up a baseball. I am great at working with the kid that is behind, or other coaches wont take time to work with. I am extremely patient!

I'm a phenomenal motivator and teacher. And modest as well :).

Coaches are given the greatest of responsibilities. The words of encouragement, constructive feedback, or negative words will stay with the children in their care for the remainder of their life. I take that responsibility seriously and work hard to leave a positive, affirming impression for them to build on.

As a father of 2 young boys, I love working with children. I love seeing them connect the dots in their head, on their own, via some guiding.

I have coached in PSO, TCLL, and Select (AAYBA / USSSA / Little Leauge). I have coached tournaments, leauge, and allstar teams.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity.

I love when I see a kid "get it" and connect the dots. Additionally when Dad/Mom see their child improving.

Coaching my sons and being part of their teams.

OJT.  With 2 sons and a lack of volunteers I learned the bulk of my tools by necessity, asking questions, trial and error.

Trust is imperative.  I like to start by talking to the player while playing catch.  Having fun is imperative.  If I'm able to correlate a smile, laugh and baseball then I generally am able to gain their trust. From there we start working through the fundamentals of baseball.  Or putting the pieces of the puzzle together.

My sweet spot is players who are behind, new or needing some individual attention.

Patience is key.  Seek referrals.

Love to see my boys stand on their own feet and join in our mutual love for this sport.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are their goals.  What are they trying to accomplish.
