About Kayla

Biology has been a passion of mine since high school and I have now returned to high school as a teacher to share my passion! I have been a high school biology teacher now for two years and have my California secondary teaching credential. I studied Exercise Physiology in college so I have extensive knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and the human body!

I started with some tutoring in high school and college, then did student teaching, and now have my own classroom. 



I am a current high school teacher and have a valid teaching certificate for high school life sciences in the state of California.

I will get a baseline on where the students are in their science knowledge. Once we have the baseline, then I will look at the material the students are working on. I will attempt to bridge gaps students have and then work on new material to increase their knowledge of the subject.



I have worked with high school students, English language learners, students with Individualized Education Plans, and gifted students. 



Hire a teacher that has experience in the classroom helping students. The best help you will get will be from a tutor who has real classroom experience and understands what is needed to succeed in the classroom. 



I am fond of the work my students have completed recently in macromolecules.

Students should think about what has went well in class that they understood and areas they needed more help and explanations. This is a good starting point so I know where to bridge gaps and help students succeed. A starting point is needed when tutoring.
