About Sergio
My mission is to empower you to be creative in the kitchen, one dish at a time. To build confidence that will follow you regardless of the cuisine or your skill level.
I haven't always been a culinary instructor, but I've always had a passion for teaching. Food has always been more than a meal in my traditional Mexican upbringing. It's family, friends, and community. I worked in entertainment advertising for 20-plus years as a creative agency owner before attending culinary school. My passion and love for sharing what I know haven't changed – just the venue.
I've always been involved in some aspect of teaching, whether food-related or not. I enjoy knowing that I can impact a person's life positively. It's also always a learning opportunity for me.
I graduated from the Culinary Institute of Education with a degree in culinary arts and have worked with several well-known chefs in the Los Angeles area. I also live-stream cooking lessons with Tastemade and am a resident expert with peppermint, a lifestyle platform launching in spring.

I like to understand how comfortable a person is in the kitchen, then craft a unique, enjoyable lesson for the individual or group.
I've worked with young adults to more senior individuals.
A cooking class should be informative but fun. It is essential to ask the potential instructor many questions that relate to their personality. There should be a symbiotic energy between the student and teacher.
Every event I do has its highlights. My goal is to see smiles on individuals' faces. and know they learned something new.
