About D'Ette

We use age appropriate costuming, music and movement to promote a family atmosphere in our dance studio, while keeping up to date with the lastest dance styles.

We love teaching and dancing with all of our students. Our studio family is supportive of each other. We have been teaching in the South Austin area for 23 years and have many grown former students who are now bringing their children to our studio for classes!

D'Ette began teaching dance in 1975 in a small town in South Texas and taught throughout college. After college she taught for 12 years for the Shirley McPhail School of Dance and also had her own studios in Burnet and Marble Falls, TX. In 1993 she purchased one of the SMSD locations and has since added a studio in Bastrop, TX to her studio family.



The teachers at our studio are all highly trained professionals with years of experience in dance and teaching. Several of our faculty members have a BFA in dance from various Universities.

The student is welcomed in to classes by a professional teacher who can evaluate the correct level of dance in our program during a free trial if there is a question regarding placement.



We have worked with students of all ages and ability levels through the years of our studios.



I always encourage parents to look for a nurturing environment that will encourage students to success and to be aware that not all studios have the same values. We are committed to using age appropriate costuming, carefully selected music, and appropriate movement for students. Our goal is to provide a safe, fun environment that will instill a love of dance that can last a lifetime.



We are very proud of our annual recitals and our annual production of The Nutcracker.



A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Be prepared to let the teacher know what your previous experience has been in dance and what your goals are for taking a new class. Also be aware that each studio will have a different way of dividing classes and naming the levels that you have participated in - there is no right or wrong in this it is just important that we work together to find the best possible fit for each dancer.

Class tuition is based on the number of hours that a student participates.

Monthly tuition for one hour of classes per week is $65, additional hours are available at a discounted rate.
